Iceland special

at last an approachable local Iceland Gull has taken up winter feeding on hand outs in the middle of Grimsby--the afternoon light was superb as well which is such a bonus on sjort winter days --it did not seem to have worked out though what was edible and what was not!

Mediterranean magic

this second winter Mediterranean Gull seems to have taken up winter residence by the old Lincoln Castle ferry in Grimsby Docks

Purple Sandpiper

this very obliging Purple Sandpiper was at Covenham Reservoir on the 18th--the light was superb and even made the normally pea green water appear blue

phalaropes

Grey Phalaropes typically provide good photo opportunities and these two on Covenham Reservoir were no exception
