Alkborough Flats

a small selection of images from the large number I have taken of this developing site

weather

catching the fleeting light of a summer storm is more luck than judgement and being in a good location when it happens is even more down to luck; this was taken on the Wolds near Caistor looking down into the valley to the west as we drove back from Suffolk; 5 minutes sooner or later and we would have missed the shot---

sunrise scenics

when out early, usually birding, I like to try and capture some of the feel of the day but it is difficult to get images which do justice to the light and ambience of the time; the old chimney in the second shot is one of the relics from the Humber brick and tile industry scattered along the south Humber bank

north Wolds

it does not tend to be the most scenic are in the country so I often have to make do with arable patterns rolling over the gentle contours

Bonby church

usually an excellent place for Swifts this year has seen a real dearth of the species around this scenic location
